  1. Baby lock is an overlock machine. They have been on the market or many years and they do give a good overlock stitch.
I have never heard of the Ellure brand. So I cannot give you any advice on this brand.

Babylocks are a good brand. They are used on the television program sewing with Nancy and she is very particular about the machine she uses. Over on Patternreview.com the ellure scores very high, winning praise from many users. You might want to check out the site, you can network with other babylock users and pick up hints, tips and tricks:http://sewing.patternreview.com/ I have the 8 thread evolve serger and prefer it over my industrial juki.

  3. I am a professional seamstress and I own two Baby Lock brand sewing machines. One is a serger (four thread: two over lock and two chain stitch, which can be used independently or all at the same time) and the other is a blind stitch machine. I purchased the Baby Lock serger in l982 and the Baby Lock blind stitch in 1985. I still have both and use them regularly.
These machines have metal parts and I frequently oil to keep the parts moving smoothly. I highly recommend Baby Lock brand. I have had my machines for well over 20 years with only two repairs on the serger and none on the blind stitch machine. Now, that’s something to talk about!!! I have gone through at least a couple of hundred spools of thread with these machines and still counting.
