Where is the switch to thread the bobbin on Brother sewing machine?
fadarce32 asked:
I have a Brother XL 2010. I am trying to figure out how to switch it so the bobbin will thread on top of the machine. I have no problem putting it in at the bottom, but I cannot find the switch that shuts off the needle. In most sewing machines that I have seen there is a button in the center of the knob on the side. Mine does not have this...Any suggestions would be great!

Go to and look up your machine, but you just need to put the bobbin on the bobbin winder shaft and push the bobbin to the right. Turn the bobbin clockwise, by hand, until the sprint on the shaft slides into the grove on the bobbin. Then thread the bobbin and press down on the foot control. The bobbin should wind.
But look up your machine, full instruction about the XL 2010 are on the web site.

I don’t know about the Brother but most of the machines I have used don’t have a switch. You put the bobbin in the slot meant for it and then on the large wheel on the right of the machine there is a knob. See if it will pull out. This is what the other machines use to disengage the needle and lets you fill the bobbin.
