You put the bobbin in the slot meant for it and then on the large wheel on the right of the machine there is a knob. See if it will pull out. Turn the bobbin clockwise, by hand, until the sprint on the shaft slides into the grove on the bobbin. Then thread the bobbin and press down on the foot control. The bobbin should wind. But look up your machine, full instruction about the XL 2010 are on the web site.
